Update: Jett Lawrence set for MRI on injured shoulder
Following another superb overall victory at the fifth round of AMA Pro Motocross at Southwick, Jett Lawrence stated he plans on getting an MRI on his injured shoulder to gain some insight into the full extent of the damage.
“We have kind of been discussing really what it actually is because at first we thought it might be bruising or something like that or maybe a pulled muscle. For how long and slow it’s taking to heal, we might get an MRI or something because the muscle could be torn. We are not really 100 percent sure on what it is,” he explained during the press conference on the ailment he suffered at Hangtown.
“We are going to use one of these breaks to go and get an MRI or get it after this. We thought this break might help it get back to 100%, but each time I would go train and ride or use it, it would go back to that same spot – it would heal up and then drop a bit. It’s kind of a bit annoying, but no excuses, we still got the overall win, but it would definitely make it a lot easier if we were 100 percent.”
“We’re still riding trying to stay in touch with the bike, who knows, maybe this week we might (take a break in training during the week), we’re not 100 percent sure so we’ll see.”
Currently sitting equal second in the championship standings, just three points behind his brother, as the series heads to RedBud next weekend, he’ll be eager to reclaim the lead at this iconic stop on the calendar.
