Having made the journey to Australia initially to race the Manjimup 15,000, Lars van Berkel then extended his trip to race round five of ProMX at Murray Bridge.

Lining up under the Boost Mobile Honda awning, the likeable and multi-skilled Dutchman, who’s never one to turn down an opportunity, took full advantage of the chance by claiming sixth overall in MX1.

Fighting it out with the many heavy hitters in the demanding class and handling the challenging circuit, van Berkel impressively held his own to secure 7-5 moto finishes.

“What a great experience. The track was brutal and challenged me. I am grateful for the opportunity to compete in Australia,” he said.

This journey Down Under was the latest on his list of notable achievements, for the man who’s nominally a beach racer has also raced MXGP, AMA Pro Motocross, the Canadian Triple Crown Series, the Swiss Championship and in France in the last 12 months alone.

Loving his world tour program and ready to tackle any challenge, it’s always a joy to watch the popular, well travelled van Berkel test himself no matter what or where the series is.
