Simpson Delivers Turn Around Performance For Winner Triumph Racing Australia At ProMX Round 2
APPIN NSW
For Immediate Release
The Winner Triumph Racing Australia Team has completed Round 2 of the 2025 ProMX Championship, taking place in Appin, NSW. A “Mixed bag” of results across the 4 rider squad leaves the team with more data and direction to improve across the MX1 and MX2 Class riders performance leaving the hilly ruts of Appin behind.
MX1 rider Jack Simpson entered Round 2 with the goal of continuing to develop the All-New Triumph RC-450 in the race conditions of the highly competitive MX1 Class. With new suspension settings, a rejuvenated Simpson appeared with more speed and intensity at Appin, leading to a season best finish in Moto 2.
With 16-12 Moto scores for 14th Overall, Simpson commented on the day;
“Today was a huge step in the right direction for me”, said Simpson.
“The second Moto I had an average start but I passed forward into 12th and was able to start feeling the pace of the lead pack again. I’m still adjusting to racing for 25 minutes as opposed to 2 hours in off-road, but I’m enjoying finding my feet again in ProMX”, commented Simpson.
Seth Jackson continues to learn in his Rookie MX1 ProMX campaign, the young Victorian rider placing 29-24 Moto scores, with battles and track position inside the top 20.
In the MX2 Class, both team riders had a challenging day across the two Moto’s.
Thynan Kean battled through mid pack starts and mid race incidents to lodge 21-16 moto finishes, landing him in 18th Overall for the day.
Connar Adams continues to show speed and potential, with early race confidence and track position hindering his progress in the motos.
“I had a fun day here at Appin and kept it on two wheels. There’s a lot for me to work on and I know where we need to improve so I’m excited to keep working heading into Gillman”, commented Adams.
Winner Triumph Racing Australia now focus on the red sands of Gillman, SA, for Round 3 of the 2025 ProMX Championship taking place on Sunday April 27th.
Levi Rogers Top MX1 Privateer With 5th Overall At ProMX Appin
The CMC Racing Team again impressed at Appin for Round 2 of the 2025 ProMX Championship, with team rider Levi Rogers continuing his impressive early season form as the standout privateer in the MX1 Class.
Rogers made the Superpole session for the second time in as many rounds this season, where a decision to change bike settings didn’t gel with the developing track, leaving Levi at the tail end of the Superpole session following a few mistakes.
Unfazed, Rogers went to the line in Opening MX1 Moto with confidence and ultimately delivered a great start and consistent moto on his way to 6th position. Backing this up in Moto 2, Rogers was again the highest place Privateer behind the elite factory team riders, crossing the line in 6th position.
With 6-6 Moto scores and 5th Overall, Rogers commented on his day at Appin;
“It was another great day for me here at Appin and I feel great on the bike, I want to thank Caloundra Motorcycle Centre and all of our sponsors for making this year possible, it feels good to be back riding at my potential in 2025”, commented Rogers.
In the MX2 Class, Sam Larsen pushed through a challenging day with a DNF in Moto 1 and a 20th position in Moto 2, leaving him wanting more heading into Gillman.
“Today was frustrating and I know what we need to work on for Gillman. There was flashes of it here today, but we now head back overseas to race in Thailand and I will have lots of gat drops between now and Gillman to get back towards where I belong in ProMX,”, said Larsen.
CMC Racing Yamaha development riders Joel Philips finished the Round with 26-27 Moto scores in MX2, whilst Hayden and Lochy Roache continued their learning curve in the highly competitive MX3 Class.
CMC Racing Team Green Kawasaki supported rider Joel Evans also enjoyed a stellar day in the MX1 Class, Evans placing 14-7 Moto scores with a fantastic final moto to land in 9th Overall.
“Today was a huge step in the right direction and that second moto result almost equals my career best finish, so I’m very happy. This afternoon reminds me of the reason why we go racing and I want to thank the Caloundra Motorcycle Centre team for all of their support”, said Evans.
CMC Racing now focus on the red sands of Gillman, SA, for Round 3 of the 2025 ProMX Championship taking place on Sunday April 27th.
Jett Alsop Continues Consistent Early Season Campaign With Appin 4th Overall
Ride Red Honda’s Jet Alsop continues with his consistent early ProMX season campaign in the MX3 Class, lodging two “come from behind” performances to secure 4th Overall at Appin, Round 2 of the 2025 ProMx Championship.
With two starts outside of the Top 10 on the opening lap, Alsop left himself with a big disadvantage on track position in the early laps across the highly competitive MX3 field.
“My starts really let me down today and it’s something I am going to work on heading into Gillman”, said Alsop.
“I had the speed and with the ruts the track was extremely difficult to pass on, but I was able to make my way through the pack both moto’s which gives me a lot of confidence for once I get my starts figured out”.
“My game plan is still to stay consistent and continue learning the new bike as this is only my second ProMX on Honda Ride Red. It’s a long season and we are just getting started”, concluded Alsop.
Alsop now moves into 3rd position in the MX3 Championship, heading into Round 3 of the Championship in Gillman, SA, on Sunday 27th April.
