Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki Battle Up Front at Toowoomba ProMX

The Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki Team returned to form at Round 7 of the 2025 ProMX Championship in Toowoomba, QLD. Taylah McCutcheon landed on the MXW Class podium with 3rd Overall and MX1 Star Luke Clout lead laps, battling for Victory at Echo Valley.

Heavy rain throughout Saturday left the entire venue drenched, but by Sunday, the track developed into a well-raced, technical circuit that rewarded aggression and consistency.

In the MXW Class, Taylah McCutcheon showed serious grit and determination in Toowoomba’s difficult conditions to land 3rd Overall. After multiple crashes and off-track moments in the muddy Moto 1, McCutcheon fought through to salvage 5th. She came back with a strong and composed ride in Moto 2 to claim 3rd, locking in a vital podium result to keep her championship hopes alive.

“I was a little frustrated today with my mistakes in the mud, but overall Moto 2 was far better and we improved every time I hit the track. 3rd Overall is good for the Championship and I’m excited to get to QMP this weekend for the Final Round,” commented McCutechon.

In the MX1 Class, Luke Clout delivered a late season return to the elite level of MX1, qualifying 3rd and finishing 6th in SuperPole before putting together two strong moto results.

In Moto 1, Clout powered his KX450 to a podium finish in 3rd. In Moto 2, he led for over half the race before settling for 4th, securing 4th Overall for the round.

Clout has reasserted himself as a threat among the class front-runners heading into the Final Round.

“Today was solid and it felt great to be back where I belong and in the battle up front. I was able to lead many laps in Moto 2 and overall I’m happy with my riding. Let’s tidy up a few things and be ready for QMP”, said Clout.

Rhys Budd continued his consistent run in MX2, qualifying 4th and remaining competitive across both motos. With strong starts and early race pace, Budd logged a 7th in Moto 1 and a 9th in Moto 2 to secure 7th Overall on the day.

Cambell Williams continued his return to competition on the Penrite Racing GO24 Team Green program, logging consistent 15-15 finishes en route to 14th Overall, with MXW Class Team mate Kariatiarna Horne landing in 10th Overall.

A strong contingent of Team Green privateers also made their presence known at Toowoomba, with Kaleb Barham leading the charge at Toowoomba in MX2. Barham would battle at the front in Moto 2 and claim a very impressive 5th Overall on his KX250.

Whalley Continues ProMX MXW Class Progress With 6th Overall At Toowoomba

Darci Whalley continues to progress in her second year of MXW Class racing, with another consistent performance for the Moto1 Motorcycles KTM Development Team rider at Toowoomba for Round 3 of the MXW Championship.

Whalley, who claimed back-to-back SSMX Championships just last weekend, pushed through extremely challenging conditions to claim 6th Overall.

Starting the day strong, Whalley showed her sprint speed in the mud, Qualifying in 3rd position out of the morning’s session.

With 7th position in Moto 1, Whalley was determined to better her finish and after executing a great start in Moto 2 and running in 2nd position, Whalley would get caught up in a deep rut early in the Moto losing valuable track time in the process.

Ending the Moto with 6th position, combined with her 7th in the Opening Moto, Whalley leaves Toowoomba with 6th Overall, maintaining 5th in the Championship points headed into QMP.

“I was happy with my consistent finishes in these challenging track conditions”.

“I had more in me this weekend with speed but the track was the same for everyone and a few mistakes cost me.”

“Thanks to Moto1 Motorcycles and KTM Australia, I’m excited to finish the season strong at QMP”.

CMC Racing Yamaha Show Grit In Challenging Toowoomba ProMX

The Caloundra Motorcycle Centre (CMC Racing) Yamaha Team showed grit and determination at a challenging Round 7 of the ProMX Championship at Toowoomba. With Team stand out Levi Rogers once again making it into MX1 SuperPole, there were successful rides across the team mixed in with challenges as the day progressed at Echo Valley.

In the MX1 Class, Levi Rogers would again make the elite 10 and qualify for MX1 Superpole, where he posted the 9th fastest time. Rogers would take this momentum into Moto 1 where a strong showing gave him 8th position at the chequered flag. Unfortunately in Moto 2, Rogers bike would have electrical issues in the Opening lap, leading to a DNF and retirement from the Moto.

“I felt like I was riding back to my true potential here at Toowoomba and I feel good about my performance despite the issues in Moto 2. Considering the conditions these things can happen and I’m looking forward to QMP and finishing the Championship strong”, said Rogers.

In a challenging day for Sam Larsen in MX2, he would push through both Moto’s but finish outside of the Overall points, looking to rebound and finish the season on a high at QMP.

The CMC Racing Yamaha MX3 duo of Hayden Downie and Lachy Roche both made the best of the muddy and challenging conditions at Echo Valley.

Downie would experience a technical disqualification in Moto 1 after a multi rider pile up caused chaos on the opening lap of the MX3 Moto, however he rebounded for an 11th place finish in Moto 2. Lachy Roche qualified for his 3rd consecutive Championship Moto’s at Toowoomba, where the next goal for the young Caloundra Motorcycle Centre backed rider is scoring points at QMP to finish out the ProMX season.,

The CMC Racing Yamaha Team now focuses on the Final Round of the ProMX Championship, taking place at Queensland Moto Park On Sunday August 3rd.
