00 Elite Rider Training Focused On Execution At Wollongong For AUSX Round 3

As the 00 Elite Rider Training program sets their sights on Wollongong for AUSX Round 3, Head Coach and program director Nathan Crawford signals that execution is the key to improving on the potential shown across all riders at Redcliffe.

With many of the star riders in the 00 Elite program looking to turn Heat Race wins into Main Event wins and top fives into podiums across the Championship Classes, a focus on the execution of key race fundamentals has been on the forefront of Coach Crawford’s program heading into Wollongong.

“After the Opening Rounds at Redcliffe I was aware of what we needed to work on heading into Wollongong. Our entire program of riders from Junior to Pro have been locked in, working hard, increasing the intensity and effort levels accordingly. The results from Redcliffe did not reflect our program’s potential, other than a few standout riders. Our entire crew simply need to execute on Saturday night and I’m confident the speed and results will shine through from the 00 Elite Rider Training program. The track map and dirt look great for Wollongong and our group of riders are excited to go racing,” he insisted.

In the Pro Classes, Boost Mobile HRC Honda’s Aaron Tanti leads the charge for 00 Elite in SX1, with a focus for Tanti on early race intensity and aggression in the opening laps hoping to see his 4th place best at Redcliffe turning towards podium placings in the Triple Crown format.

In SX2, Kaleb Barham returns from international duty and the opening World Supercross Championship (WSX) Round in Vancouver, Canada. Braham showed fantastic form overseas and looks to bring his speed that led to a Round best 5th place from Vancouver and 8th overall in the world SX2 class back to Wollongong.

Kayden Minear also looks to build on his Heat Race victories in Redcliffe, with speed in SX2 class being no issue for Minear, as execution will be paramount to securing podium placings in the Triple Crown format at Wollongong.

Along with the Factory riders on the 00 Elite program, the privateers and junior riders across all Championship classes will look to further develop their AUSX skills and experience at Wollongong.

Standout rides from Redcliffe propelled Liam Atkinson as top SX2 privateer, SX3 rider Jack Byrne into 6th in the Championship and young 85cc Star Nixon Darragh into 4th in the Championship.

Round 3 of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship takes place at WIN Stadium, Wollongong NSW, on Saturday November 2nd. The event will be broadcast across free-to-air coverage on KAYO Streaming in Australia and MAVTV for international audiences.

Caleb Goullet Learns From SX1 Rookie Appearance Leading Into AUSX Round 3

Caleb Goullet aboard the JKAYS Elliot Bros Racing GasGas MC450 heads into Wollongong for AUSX Round 3 at WIN Stadium with experience and seat time as a SX1 Rookie following the Opening Rounds at Redcliffe.

After making the jump to the SX1 class for 2024, Goullet had a steep learning curve at Redcliffe for the Opening Rounds of the Championship. “We learned a lot at Redcliffe especially in regards to bike set up and suspension,” commented Goullet.

“The race motor we had built was too much inside the stadium and the technical track and big whoops all played into me not feeling comfortable at Redcliffe. We have made some changes to our set up for Wollongong and I’m excited to show what I’m capable of on Saturday night.”

Away from the track, the launch of the JKAYS Elliot Bros Racing program was a huge success with great social media and fan engagement at the event.

“Everyone knows as a privateer you need great partners to go racing and thanks to JKAYS Group and Elliot Bros I have that support in my corner. We created great content and I am looking forward to growing our presence in Wollongong for the fans, my partners and the Championship as a whole,” said Goullet.

Goullet enters Round 3 of AUSX sitting in 20th position in the SX1 Championship after making both Main Events at the Opening Rounds.

Luke Clout Ready For More Wins As AUSX Heads To Wollongong

Luke Clout and Empire Kawasaki Team are ready for more thrilling SX1 Victories as the Australian Supercross (AUSX) Championship heads to Wollongong, NSW at WIN Stadium for Round 3 on Saturday October 2nd. Alongside Clout, SX2 Team mate Reid Taylor also eyes a return to the podium, with Kawasaki Australia supported Brett Metcalfe also looking to build on a consistent lead into Round 3.

The Opening Rounds of AUSX at Redcliffe saw an expanded Kawasaki presence across all the Championship classes along with the event itself, as Kawasaki Pit Party activations, bike displays and trackside signage marked a partnership return with AUSX for Kawasaki and Team Green.

With Empire Kawasaki leading the charge, SX1 rider Luke Clout has added additional stadium racing seat time with his debut in the WSX Championship aboard the Rick Ware Racing KX450 in Canada last weekend, as he looks to bring the international experience back to Wollongong.

Currently sitting in 3rd place in the SX1 Championship, Clout eagerly awaits Round 3 at Wollongong.

“To get a victory in the opening SX1 Final for Round 2 at Redcliffe was incredible and it shows where we are at with the KX450, the team and my own program,” commented Clout.

“Having the opportunity to compete at WSX with the elite level riders has opened my eyes to another level of racing and I’m extremely excited to bring that back to AUSX and to Wollongong this weekend, where more podiums and victories are what I am chasing.”

For Reid Taylor, a mixed bag of results from Redcliffe saw the young rider as a trio of Australian talent to sweep the SX2 Opening Round podium, with Taylor claiming 2nd, locking out the American riders, a first in many of the recent years of AUSX racing.

Poor starts and race incidents meant Taylor struggled to emulate his Round 1 success on Sunday for Round 2, but regardless Taylor eyes more podiums at Wollongong.

“I know exactly what needs to be done to get back on the podium as we executed the game plan at Redcliffe”, explained Taylor. “I feel great on the bike, the team has everything working well and my program is on point, I know we can get the job done in the triple crown format on Saturday night.”

Brett Metcalfe on the Kawasaki Australia supported GO24 KX450 comes into Round 3 in 8th position in the SX1 Championship standings, with the veteran’s patented consistent starts to any Championship used as a base to progress, “Metty” is expected to showcase more speed and experience at Wollongong on Saturday night.

As Mitch Norris in SX2 along with Zhane Mackintosh and additional Team Green support riders also make their presence known at Wollongong, an exciting night of Racing awaits Kawasaki Australia.
