Alsop Secures 2nd in MX3 Championship At ProMX QMP

Ride Red Honda JPM Racing Team rider Jet Alsop completed his comeback ProMX season by securing 2nd in the MX3 Class Championship at QMP. In a remarkable turn of events, Alsop was forced to endure pain throughout the days racing after a crash in Qualifying forced the Sunshine Coast based rider to push through a badly bruised lower back to finish the Championship on the podium.

Alsop hit the track with his trademark speed the MX3 field have become accustomed to in the latter half of the season. Setting the fastest time in his Qualifying group and going fior the overall fastest time on his final hot lap, Alsop would crash in a fast section of the QMP track, coming down heavily on his back.

With swelling and lower back pain stiffening up overnight, Alsop was faced with the arduous task heading into Moto 1 on Sunday with a lack of mobility and the need for points to secure the Championship podium.

“My lower back pain made it almost impossible to ride at speed this morning and that was frustrating in Moto 1.

“I knew I had to lock down 2nd in the Championship in the Opening Moto and with a 12th position we got the job done.”

“With that weight off my shoulders I was almost done for the day thinking about sitting out Moto 2. I decided I wasn’t going out like that after my comeback this season, so I geared up and toughed out a 3rd position to finish the Championship strong”.

With 12-3 Moto Scores, Alsop finished 6th Overall for the Final Round and 2nd in the 2025 MX3 Class Championship.

Jet Alsop now moves his focus to the Darwin MXGP as a MX2 Wildcard along with the upcoming Australian Supercross Championship.

McCutcheon Claims 2nd In MXW Championship At ProMX Season Finale

Penrite Racing Empire Kawasaki rider Taylah McCutcheon has wrapped up the 2025 ProMX Championship at QMP with 2nd Overall in the MXW Class for the Final Round. By doing so, McCutcheon also secured 2nd in the Championship points, with her speed and consistency taking the KX250 to multiple podiums throughout the season.

In a slow start to the Final Round, McCutcheon pushed hard from a poor start in the Opening MXW Moto, clawing her way back to 3rd at the Chequered flag. Stronger track position in the opening laps of Moto 2 allowed a return to normal for McCutcheon, as she battled in the lead pack before taking out 2nd position, with 3-2 finishes leading to 2nd Overall on the day and in the MXW Class Championship.

“I’m thrilled to be standing here with 2nd in the MXW Championship”.

“After coming back from my injury last season, this completes my first full Championship in two years and I’m so proud to have been consistent all year to reward myself, Empire Kawasaki and all of our sponsors with 2nd in the Championship”, said McCutcheon.

The Final Round delivered challenging racing for both Rhys Budd and Luke Clout across the Championship classes, with Clout involved in a huge start line crash in the Opening MX1 Moto. Coming together with several riders, Clout’s bike was sent flying into the air before landing on him during the incident.

Initially taken to Racesafe as a precaution, Clout was cleared from any major injury, but was forced to the sidelines for the remainder of the day.

Rhys Budd took a solid 6th in the Opening MX2 Moto, before a tough Moto 2 saw him fighting from the back of the field, crossing the line in 13th position to claim 9th Overall for the Round.

Penrite Racing GO24 Team Green program rider Kariatiarna Horne secured 4th in the MXW Class Championship in only her 2nd full season competing in the ProMX Championship. The young New Zealand rider showed continuous improvement throughout the 2025 season.

The Team Green showing at QMP was completed with Cambell Williams and Kaleb Barham both battling hard inside the MX2 Top Ten placings all day, with a special acknowledgement to MX1 Team Green rider Joel Cigliano, who was presented with the “Iron Man” award for his efforts this season at the ProMX Championship presentation.

Maiden ProMX Overall Win For JPM Motorsports Honda At Toowoomba

The JPM Motorsports Honda Team excelled at Toowoomba at Round 7 of the ProMX Championship. Fresh from claiming their first Moto win just one Round ago at Canberra, the Team surpassed this milestone with another, as MX3 Class rider Jet Alsop took his Ride Red JPM Motorsports Honda to 1st Overall in convincing fashion, whilst Haruki Yokoyama once again scored highly as a leading MX2 Class privateer.

For Alsop in MX3, he continued his momentum from Canberra where he landed his first Moto win of the season, initially struggling in Qualifying at Tooowoomba.

After logging the 6th fastest time in the muddy conditions, the JPM crew made several small changes that lead to big gains in the Opening MX3 Moto, where Alsop would run 2nd for the first half of the Moto, before shifting gears and sprinting away to claim the win at the chequered flag.

After executing a holeshot in Moto 2, Alsop would ride smart, settling for 2nd place and being rewarded with his first Overall Victory of 2025 and the JPM operations maiden Overall win as a race team.

“I’m stoked to take my first win of 2025 and we will keep working as we head into QMP this coming weekend for the Championship Finale”, said Alsop.

With his performance at Toowoomba, Alsop now moves into 2nd position in the MX3 Class Championship with one Round remaining.

In the MX2 Class, Haruki Yokoyama felt right at home in the muddy conditions at Toowoomba, where the Japanese rider would once again show his speed as the leading privateer in the MX2 field.

Yokoyama fought hard for 8-6 Moto scores and 6th Overall, locking in a memorable weekend for the JPM Motorsports Honda team.

Jed Parsons, JPM Team co-owner commented on the weekend’s racing;

“We are so happy to see Jet Alsop’s progress this season and to take our first Victory as a team is a fantastic feeling so early into our journey.”

“Haruki’s progress in MX2 has also been sensational and to leave Round 7 with an Overall win in MX3 and Top Privateer in MX2 shows our program is really working. We are excited to finish strong this coming Sunday at QMP.”
