AUSX Finale Awaits Luke Clout and Empire Kawasaki
The Empire Kawasaki Team have arrived for their hometown Round of the Australian Supercross Championship (AUSX) in Melbourne at the infamous Marvel Stadium. The Final Round of AUSX presents Luke Clout with the potential to still challenge for the SX1 Championship as he currently sits in 3rd, while Reid Taylor is looking to finish strongly, as he occupies 4th in the SX2 Championship.
After navigating through the intense Supercross Sprint Round at Adelaide 2 weeks ago, claiming Superpole Victory and showing incredible speed, Clout backed up that performance in the latest Round of the World Supercross Championship (WSX) in Perth on a Rick Ware Racing backed KX450, where he would claim 4th and 5th overall respectively against the world’s best riders.
“I’m ready to go at Marvel stadium. I was able to win here last year to finish the season strong and the build up we have had this year with Empire Kawasaki with bike development, the speed we have shown across AUSX and WSX, I’m extremely proud of where we are at and can’t wait to finish the season strong,” commented Clout.
For Reid Taylor, the Final Round allows another opportunity to rebound back on the SX2 podium for the first time since Round 1 at Redcliffe. With the emerging SX2 star fielding consistent results all season long, Marvel Stadium is the perfect setting for a late season push.
“We have had solid speed for all of the AUSX Championship, but I haven’t executed to the best of my ability since Redcliffe. The track at Marvel will allow me to showcase my speed and racecraft and I can’t wait to give the Empire Kawasaki Team a shot at another podium to finish out what has been a great 2024,” said Taylor.
Brett Metcalfe will make the transition from full-time racer into retirement after the chequered flag flies in Melbourne. Finishing up his “24 in 24” tour, Metty brings to an end his illustrious career across domestic and international competition on Saturday night.
“Obviously it’s going to be emotional when it’s all said and done. Racing at Adelaide a few weeks ago in front of my Hometown crowd, it began to set in. I also showed some results that, for me, were unexpected and it showed I still have some speed. My goal is to stay safe at Marvel, but I’m also motivated to show what I’ve got one last time,” commented Metcalfe.
Across the Team Green support program, Powersports Kawasaki mounted Zane Mackintosh will push through a shoulder dislocation in Adelaide to line up in SX2, as he is joined by GO24’s Mitch Norris and Joel Cigliano in SX1 to fly the Team Green flag in Melbourne.
Round 5 of the 2024 Australian Supercross Championship takes place at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on Saturday 30th November. The event will be broadcast across free-to-air coverage on KAYO Streaming in Australia and MAVTV for international audiences.

Gillman returning to ProMX calendar in 2025
The Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) will continue its relationship with the much-loved Gillman track in 2025, which will host round three on Sunday, April 27. Words: ProMX
Located just a 20-minute drive north of Adelaide’s CBD, Gillman’s sandy loam and numerous man-made jumps make it a favourite for riders, which has been reflected in consistently brilliant racing since the track first joined the ProMX Championship in 2022.
Earlier this year, Kyle Webster (Honda) and Jed Beaton (Yamaha) traded blows across two blockbuster Thor MX1 races, with their intense rivalry continuing all the way to the end of the championship.
The action was also delivered thick and fast in the other classes on the vast 1.98km, 17-turn layout, where lap times for the fastest riders are over two minutes and the average speed is well over 80km/h.
The Gillman round will again be run by the Motocross Riders Association.
Gillman joins Wonthaggi, Appin and Warwick as the other venues already locked in for 2025 ProMX hosting, with further calendar announcements to be made in coming days.
“Gillman is one of the best motocross tracks in the country, so it’s only fitting that it continues as one of the jewels in the ProMX calendar into 2025,” said Motorcycling Australia CEO, Peter Doyle.
“The excitement at Gillman starts with the long start straight, while the huge variety of jumps and turns is a great leveller, bringing out the strengths and weaknesses across all competitors. I’d also like to thank the Motocross Riders Association for continuing to work with the ProMX team to deliver national-level motocross to South Australia.”

ProMX and ASBK to headline inaugural Warwick Bike Week in 2025
The motorcycle racing spotlight will fall squarely on Warwick, Queensland and the multi-purpose Morgan Park motorsport precinct in June 2025 as it hosts the ProMX and Australian Superbike Championships over consecutive weekends as part of a wider celebration of motorcycle sports. Words: ProMX
Thanks to support from the Southern Downs Regional Council, the mi-bike Motorcycle Insurance Australian Superbike Championship presented by Motul returns to Morgan Park Raceway for round four of its 2025 campaign from June 13-15, and then on Sunday, June 22 the Penrite ProMX Championship presented by AMX Superstores (ProMX) will make its first first-ever visit to the extensively upgraded Warwick MX Club-run Morgan Park motocross track. The ProMX round will be round five of the 2025 championship.
The two Motorcycling Australia national championships will form the backbone of ‘Warwick Bike Week 2025’, which will also include a plethora of mid-week events such as:
- A ride day at Morgan Park;
- Motorcycling touring activities around the beautiful Southern Downs and Granite Belt region;
- Rider and team activations in Warwick;
- Rider education sessions and workshops;
- Track walks and championship ambassador meets and greets; and
- ‘Come and try’ activities.
For those keen to mix Warwick Bike Week 2025 with additional pleasure, the region is bursting with activities and attractions, including Queensland’s only cold-climate wine region, museums, the Southern Downs Railway ‘Downs Explorer’, and adventure-based pursuits such as boating, fishing, mountain biking, four-wheel driving, camping and walking/hiking trails.
Easily accessible highways and meandering country backroads ensure that travel to Morgan Park, whether by car or motorcycle, will be one of the best parts of your visit to the region.
