Empire Kawasaki Take On Iconic Murray Bridge Track For ProMX Round 5

The Empire Kawasaki Team will venture to South Australia for the second time this season ahead of Round 5 of the ProMX Championship, taking place at the iconic Murray Bridge track on Sunday June 23rd.

In the MX1 Class, Luke Clout returns to Murray Bridge as a track he has had previous success at and looks to build on valuable testing data from the Gillman SA Round earlier this season.

“It’s been many years since we have raced at Murray Bridge but it’s always been a really fun track that I’ve enjoyed,” insisted Clout. “The Team and I learned a lot from Gillman in regards to bike settings and suspension. The dirt is exactly the same in SA across Gillman and Murray Bridge, so with the testing we have been able to take in from the loamy red sand, I’m confident we will find comfort on the bike and this will show at Round 5.”

In MX2, Reid Taylor comes off a career best ProMX round and is looking for redemption after unfortunate issues kept him from winning his first career Moto at Maitland.

“I’m ready for Murray Bridge and to get back to the front of the field where I feel I belong now. Maitland was a huge turning point for the Team and myself, although it wasn’t the fairy tale ending we deserved, I know I am now fast enough to win races and stay at the front of the field. We were fast at Gillman and I expect the same at Round 5 this weekend,” said Taylor.

As the MXW class makes its return to the ProMX Championship for Round 5 (Round 2 of MXW) Taylah McCutcheon is still sidelined from injury, although back on the bike after her pre-season crash and subsequent surgeries.

Empire Kawasaki Team Owner Tyson Cherry commented: “It is unfortunate that Taylah can’t be back with us for Murray Bridge. After such a dramatic crash and injuries in the pre season, it is impressive to see her back on the bike and we look forward to her returning to racing when she feels ready.”

Round 5 of the 2024 ProMX Championship takes place at Murray Bridge, SA, on Saturday Sunday 23rd May, with the event being broadcast across free-to-air coverage on SBS and the streaming platform SBS On Demand along with the ProMX TV live stream coverage.
