The Moto1 Motorcycles KTM Team were on track for Round 5 of the ProMX Championship at Murray Bridge SA on Sunday 23rd June competing across the MX3 Class with riders Deacon Paice and Zac O’Loan along with Darci Whalley making her team debut in the MXW class.

Deacon Paice would return to form at Murray Bridge after a challenging previous Round at Maitland, where a small shoulder injury hindered his progress. Paice delivered his trademark Holeshots, claiming the opening MX3 class Moto WP Suspension Holeshot award.

After leading multiple laps and challenging for podium placings, Paice would deliver 6-6 Moto scores with consistency leading him to 4th overall for Round 5.

“Today was a step in the right direction after Maitland and it felt good to lead laps and run up front again. The track was tough and it was easy to make mistakes, I chose to be consistent and 4th Overall was a good day for me and the team,” commented Paice.

Zac O’Loan continues to show great improvement at the mid way point of the season, posting an equal career best 10th place in MX3 Moto 2 en route to 14th Overall.

“I really enjoyed the track today and I felt I rode well. Unfortunately I had a small mechanical issue combined with a crash in Moto 1 which dropped me outside of the Top 10 late in the Moto, but after a bad start in Moto 2 I rebounded for 10th which felt great,” said O’Loan.

In the MXW Women’s class, Darci Whalley faced a day of frustration. After claiming the opening Moto Holeshot and running up front early, Whalley would crash several times across both Motos. Forced to charge from the back of the field, Whalley finished 9th overall on the day, not showing her true potential at Murray Bridge.

“I made too many mistakes today and paid the price on the rough track at Murray Bridge. I felt fast and my results did not reflect my speed. I’ll regroup for the final 2 MXW rounds in QLD,” commented Whalley.

The Moto1 Motorcycles KTM Team will now focus on the QLD Championships taking place at QMP from Friday 28th June to Monday July 1st.
