BETA RX450 Debut’s To MX1 Superpole at ProMX Season Opener
The BETA RX450 was ridden to a successful debut in the ProMX Championship by Levi Rogers and the GAS Imports backed Caloundra Motorcycle Centre Team.
Rogers started the day with impressive speed, achieving the goal set by Levi and the team, of qualifying inside the Top Ten riders in MX1 Qualifying and gaining a place inside the MX1 Top Ten Superpole Shootout.
The Michelin Starcross 6 equipped BETA RX450 would enter the Superpole session amongst the leading manufacturers in global Motocross, in which Rogers would ride to a respectable 10th place.
In the opening Moto Rogers would establish himself in 10th position for the majority of the 30 minute race, gaining valuable track time and race data on the all new BETA RX450. Unfortunately late in the Moto, a small mistake would cost Rogers with a big crash in the high speed rollers and a final position of 18th place, after remounting.
In Moto 2, Levi was again running inside the Top 10 placings when a flat rear tyre would rule him out of finishing the race.
“I felt great on the bike from the start of the day and was super happy to make the Superpole”, commented Rogers.
“As the day progressed, we had some issues that would cause me to finish my weekend earlier than expected. But on a positive note, it was a great weekend to continue testing and dialling in the bike. I’m looking forward to round 2 to redeem myself”, concluded Rogers.
Levi and the Caloundra Motorcycles Centre team have their sights set on Round 2 of the Aus ProMX taking place at Horsham, Vic, Sunday April 7th.
