CMC Racing Yamaha Push Through Wild Conditions in Canberra

The Caloundra Motorcycle Centre Yamaha Australia Team (CMC Racing) battled through Round 6 of the 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship at Canberra. The cold early morning hard pack track giving way to thunderstorms in the afternoon, transforming the track into a muddy and challenging final moto for the MX1 Class.

Levi Rogers again showed strong early form, qualifying 7th and making it into SuperPole, where he recorded the 10th fastest time.

In Moto 1, Rogers rode consistently to finish 9th, but the worsening conditions in the second moto saw him cross the line in 15th. His combined results earned him 11th Overall for the round, and he now holds 9th in the MX1 Championship standings.

“I’m still searching to find the spark and intensity from earlier in the season,”

“I need to get better starts and put myself in a position to not pass as many riders each moto. I’m looking forward to the QLD-based final two rounds of the Championship,” said Rogers.

In the MX2 Class, Sam Larsen had a difficult day in Canberra. After qualifying 24th, he struggled to find momentum all day, finishing Moto 1 in 25th and improving slightly in Moto 2 to take 20th, ending the round 22nd Overall.

“There’s not much to say about today honestly, I struggled and need to work on some things for the final rounds in QLD.”

“We will be ready to go on familiar tracks to finish the season,” said Larsen.

In the MX3 Class, Lachy Roche qualified for his second consecutive championship moto’s, with new addition to CMC Racing Hayden Downie posting a career best 7th overall with his recent switch to the YZ250F.

Winner Triumph Racing Australia Celebrates Season Best Result at ProMX Canberra

The Winner Triumph Racing Australia Team delivered a milestone performance at Round 6 of the 2025 Penrite ProMX Championship in Canberra, ACT, with Jack Simpson achieving a season best moto result and the team’s strongest overall finish to date.

With a track evolving throughout the day, the hard-packed technical ruts during the morning gave way to thunderstorm affected muddy conditions for the final MX1 moto. Simpson rose to the occasion, executing two excellent starts and battling with factory-level competition throughout the day.

In MX1 Moto 1, Simpson ran inside the top five early before slightly pumping up, eventually crossing the line in 14th. The second moto saw Simpson thrive in the wet conditions, charging to an impressive 8th place finish,  the best moto result of the season for both rider and team.

“We have been working hard all season on the All-New TF 450-RC bike and to finally nail some starts and enjoy solid track position with the factory teams felt great.”

“I pumped up a little in Moto 1 being so close to the top five and dropped back, but the mud suited me in Moto 2 and I’m so happy to deliver a season best result for the Winner Triumph Racing Australia Team here in Canberra.”

Simpson’s efforts earned him 10th Overall for the round, elevating him to 12th in the MX1 Championship standings with momentum building heading into the final stretch of the season.

In MX2, Thynan Kean continued his 2025 season campaign. Qualifying in 20th, Kean put together consistent rides to finish 20th and 22nd across the motos, resulting in 23rd Overall for the round. The team remains encouraged by his progress in a stacked MX2 field.

A notable absentee for the Round was MX2 rider Connar Adams, who remains on the sidelines from a broken finger and subsequent surgery following the previous proMX Round at Warwick. Adams and the team are hopeful for a return to racing before the end of the ProMX Championship.

Winner Triumph Racing Australia now look ahead to the Queensland based final rounds of the championship, with renewed confidence following a breakthrough weekend in the nation’s capital.

JPM Motorsports Honda Shines in Canberra with Alsop’s Breakthrough Win and Strong 8th from Yokoyama

Canberra, ACT

Fresh from Los Angeles and the X Games High Air contest with JPM Motorsports Honda team partner Corey Creed, the JPM team headed straight to Round 6 of the 2025 ProMX Championship in Canberra.

Continuing their rise as one of the top-performing privateer teams in the paddock, Canberra did not disappoint and served as the backdrop for Jet Alsop to deliver a breakthrough moto win and second overall in MX3, while Haruki Yokoyama posted his most consistent day of the season in MX2 to finish eighth overall.

In the MX3 Class, Jet Alsop qualified fourth and set himself up well for the day’s motos. In Moto 1, a poor start saw him outside the top 20 early, but he pushed forward with impressive speed to climb through the pack and finish third.

Moto 2 was a different story. Alsop nailed the start and quickly got into the battle for the lead. He went bar-to-bar with championship rival Kayd Kingsford, eventually taking control and holding on for his first moto victory of the 2025 season.

The strong 3-1 moto scores handed him second overall for the round and moved him to third in the MX3 championship standings.

“I’ve been saying that when I finally get a start, I have the speed to challenge for wins and today we backed that up,” said Alsop.

“I was extremely disappointed after Moto 1, charging from outside the top 20 to 3rd, knowing I had more in me. I wasn’t giving that up in Moto 2 and had an epic battle with Kayd. I’m looking forward to more of this for the rest of the season. Huge thanks to Ride Red Honda and JPM Racing for their support.”

In the MX2 Class, Haruki Yokoyama delivered another strong showing aboard his JPM Honda. After qualifying 9th, he fought hard for 10th in Moto 1 and followed that up with a well earned sixth in Moto 2 to claim eighth overall for the round.

Yokoyama showed strong pace throughout the day and was a constant presence inside the top ten, building confidence heading into the final two rounds in Queensland.

“I enjoyed the track in Canberra and the conditions reminded me of some of the tracks in Japan,” said Yokoyama.

“I felt like I was battling riders all day inside the top ten. I know I’m capable of more, but eighth overall is a solid result for myself and the JPM Motorsports Honda Team heading into the final two rounds.”

With momentum building in both MX3 and MX2, JPM Motorsports Honda continues to make its mark as a standout privateer program in the 2025 ProMX Championship.
