Alsop Secures 2nd in MX3 Championship At ProMX QMP
Ride Red Honda JPM Racing Team rider Jet Alsop completed his comeback ProMX season by securing 2nd in the MX3 Class Championship at QMP. In a remarkable turn of events, Alsop was forced to endure pain throughout the days racing after a crash in Qualifying forced the Sunshine Coast based rider to push through a badly bruised lower back to finish the Championship on the podium.
Alsop hit the track with his trademark speed the MX3 field have become accustomed to in the latter half of the season. Setting the fastest time in his Qualifying group and going fior the overall fastest time on his final hot lap, Alsop would crash in a fast section of the QMP track, coming down heavily on his back.
With swelling and lower back pain stiffening up overnight, Alsop was faced with the arduous task heading into Moto 1 on Sunday with a lack of mobility and the need for points to secure the Championship podium.
“My lower back pain made it almost impossible to ride at speed this morning and that was frustrating in Moto 1.
“I knew I had to lock down 2nd in the Championship in the Opening Moto and with a 12th position we got the job done.”
“With that weight off my shoulders I was almost done for the day thinking about sitting out Moto 2. I decided I wasn’t going out like that after my comeback this season, so I geared up and toughed out a 3rd position to finish the Championship strong”.
With 12-3 Moto Scores, Alsop finished 6th Overall for the Final Round and 2nd in the 2025 MX3 Class Championship.
Jet Alsop now moves his focus to the Darwin MXGP as a MX2 Wildcard along with the upcoming Australian Supercross Championship.
