CMC Racing Yamaha Show Grit In Challenging Toowoomba ProMX
The Caloundra Motorcycle Centre (CMC Racing) Yamaha Team showed grit and determination at a challenging Round 7 of the ProMX Championship at Toowoomba. With Team stand out Levi Rogers once again making it into MX1 SuperPole, there were successful rides across the team mixed in with challenges as the day progressed at Echo Valley.
In the MX1 Class, Levi Rogers would again make the elite 10 and qualify for MX1 Superpole, where he posted the 9th fastest time. Rogers would take this momentum into Moto 1 where a strong showing gave him 8th position at the chequered flag. Unfortunately in Moto 2, Rogers bike would have electrical issues in the Opening lap, leading to a DNF and retirement from the Moto.
“I felt like I was riding back to my true potential here at Toowoomba and I feel good about my performance despite the issues in Moto 2. Considering the conditions these things can happen and I’m looking forward to QMP and finishing the Championship strong”, said Rogers.
In a challenging day for Sam Larsen in MX2, he would push through both Moto’s but finish outside of the Overall points, looking to rebound and finish the season on a high at QMP.
The CMC Racing Yamaha MX3 duo of Hayden Downie and Lachy Roche both made the best of the muddy and challenging conditions at Echo Valley.
Downie would experience a technical disqualification in Moto 1 after a multi rider pile up caused chaos on the opening lap of the MX3 Moto, however he rebounded for an 11th place finish in Moto 2. Lachy Roche qualified for his 3rd consecutive Championship Moto’s at Toowoomba, where the next goal for the young Caloundra Motorcycle Centre backed rider is scoring points at QMP to finish out the ProMX season.,
The CMC Racing Yamaha Team now focuses on the Final Round of the ProMX Championship, taking place at Queensland Moto Park On Sunday August 3rd.
