Winner Triumph Racing Australia Push Through Challenging Conditions At ProMX Toowoomba
The Winner Triumph Racing Australia Team endured challenging conditions at Toowoomba from Round 7 of the ProMX Championship. With heavy rain leading into the event, the anticipated muddy conditions led to a challenging race track that would rest riders, mechanics and machinery alike.
In the MX1 Class, Jack Simpson returned from a small injury picked up at the Hattah Desert Race, equating to no bike time leading into Toowoomba. With challenging on track conditions and lack of bike time, Simpson toughed out 15th Overall with 13-15 finishes on the day.
“I struggled today and there are no excuses. I haven’t ridden since Hattah and this was a track you had to be on your game from the gate drop, which was hard for me. We will regroup and be ready for QMP this weekend”, said Simpson.
In the MX2 Class, new team signing Deacon Paice would show his trademark speed early on the Triumph TF 250-X in his team debut. Qualifying in 6th position in the heavy conditions. However, crashes and on track incidents would not allow him to reflect his true potential on the day, leaving him with 15th Overall.
“It was a frustrating weekend for me in Toowoomba. I felt I had the speed and showed that in Qualifying, but I just hit the ground too many times in the races. Thanks to the team, I really enjoyed my first round with the whole crew and we are safe leaving the mud heading to QMP”, commented Paice.
Thynan Kean continued his run of top 20 finishes with 20th Overall, whilst Connar Adams returning from injury was unfortunately sidelined with a heavy flu and will now return to action for the Final Round at QMP.
The Winner Triumph Racing Australia Team now focuses on the Final Round of the ProMX Championship, taking place at Queensland Moto Park On Sunday August 3rd.
